numbering our days

Sounds morbid and depressing doesn’t it?  But I love what the Psalmist prayed in Psalm 90:12:
Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

what do you think?

Got a funeral today.  The last time I wore a tie was for my Grandmother’s funeral in June 2007.  Before that it was Christmas 2005.  The moral of the story: if you see me wearing a tie, assume the worst.  The good news, I tied it in one try.

I have written about listening to God before.  But Psalm 81 (Asaph again) hits it right on the head.  God speaks through Asaph.  He says (loose paraphrase):
