“O Lord, make me know my end
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am!
Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing before you.
Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah
Surely a man goes about as a shadow!
Surely for nothing they are in turmoil;
man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!
We’ve only got a moment people. Just a few minutes, if even that, in eternity to make a difference. Don’t stockpile stuff. Don’t waste time. Make a difference!
Of course, this is what a Spirit is shouting at me this morning. Let’s do it together.
Wow. I haven’t written all week. It’s not that I’ve had nothing to say, just no time to write it. So, here we are at another weekend. Big family plans.
Tonight we watch The Biggest Loser Finale with some homemade popcorn (made with our new Crazy Corn Popper compliments of Matthew and Kathryn Johnson – thanks guys).
Friday night is a double feature at the Sand Mountain Drive-in with some friends. Shrek the Final Chapter and Iron Man 2. Something for the whole family. $15 a car load for two movies. We are in baby.
Saturday, Brotey turns seven. Seven. He’s getting so big. More on him later. Big swim party. Lot’s of kids. Lot’s of urine to shock out of the pool later. And I promise I will use lots of shock.
Sunday, we worship. We will also remember the sacrifice of those who died for our freedom to worship. Here’s the song list:
Hallelujah Anyhow (choir)
Cover the Earth
Oh For a Thousand Tongues
Still the Cross
Jesus Paid It All (O praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead!)
I’m already pumped about Jesus Paid It All. See you Sunday.
I can’t wait to worship with you on Sunday. It’s been a long busy week but I’m looking forward to shouting our Savior’s praises and exalting His holy Name together. Here’s what we will sing:
Let the Praises Ring
How Great Thou Art
Sing to the King
Jesus is the Lord
I Will Rise
Are you as excited as I am? Come and let’s worship together.
Go on a field trip.
Yell at the lion.
Make funny faces.
Climb on the rocks.
Laugh with their friends.
Let them make their own pics and videos of baby ducks.
Don’t get upset when they fall in the water.
Eat a double scoop ice cream cone.
Thanks for a great time Emma, Himani, and Tara.
It’s not fun, but when you mess up, you’ve got to eat your crow – in a biblical sense of course. Ahh, just watch the video.
Victoria is writing again on godseekingkids.wordpress.com so go check it out.
Thanks for understanding.
I have been such a slacker about posting lately. I want to dive into this Uncommon theme but it’s still so large. I’m praying that God will give me focus so that I can put it all down in segments. Anyway, here’s the low down for Sunday. It’s a big day for many of our families as we recognize the years’ graduates. Pastor Randy will be continuing in Luke. The choir is pumped about something we are singing in worship. Here’s the rundown:
Victory in Jesus (this is what they’re pumped about, it ain’t your mama’s Victory in Jesus)
You Alone Are God
I Will Never Be (The Same Again)
It is going to be an exciting day. Come and let’s celebrate!
