One year ago today, I flew from Birmingham, AL to Cape Girardeau, MO. I remember our new pastor, Mark Anderson, picking me up from the airport and taking me to dinner at Olive Garden. I remember him sharing about what God was doing in his life. The vision that God was giving to Lynwood. I’d heard most of it before, but I could tell how personal it was. I was so excited to hear God speaking to him and challenging him and his wife. We are so honored and blessed to serve with Mark and Karen.
I can say that this has been challenging year personally. If you follow this blog at all, you know what I’m talking about. But I can also say that this has been one of the best years. We serve a great body of believers. They have loved us so much. They have taken care of us. They have responded to our leadership and challenged us to be better at what we do. We love leading worship with them and serving our great Savior together. We look forward to many more years.
My family stayed in Alabama that week to oversee the packing and loading. It was tough. But my first choir rehearsal was definitely the highlight of the week. It was so exciting.
One year has passed, but our excitement is just as alive as ever.
We love you Lynwood!
Father’s Day is gonna be a packed day at Lynwood. We will be hearing from and voting on our first College/Missions Pastor. These are exciting times. The field is white for the harvest around the world and right here in Cape! And believe me when I tell you, we need as many people reaching out to the SEMO campus as possible!
Here’s the Sunday set:
Hallelujah, You’re Worthy To Be Praised (choir)
Hearing from Todd and the vote
Glory to God Forever
Jesus Paid It All
Here’s a little preview of the choir number:
Hope to see you Sunday!
Palm Sunday begins my favorite week of the year. Some call it Holy Week. Whatever you call it, the heart of the gospel is in it’s story, it’s history. Sunday is a day of celebrating Jesus as our Savior. We will begin looking at His work on the cross and our salvation. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. We will sing:
Hosanna Save Us Now (choir)
For All You’ve Done
Fountain of Life (with Nothing But the Blood and There is a Fountain)
Prepare Ye the Way (choir and a surprise)
Grace Flows Down
Man it’s gonna be good. If you are in Cape, join us at Lynwood at 9:00 or 10:30 and let’s celebrate!
Lynwood people. You do not want to miss tomorrow. The music. The Word. They’ve got me pumped. But then there’s more. Brian Daniel will be with us painting during the worship. You don’t want to miss this. Here’s the set:
Oh How I Love the Name of Jesus (choir)
Today is the Day
Our God is Greater
All Because of Jesus
How He Loves
I am so ready.
I’m breaking my blog silence because I am so pumped about tomorrow. Please don’t miss tomorrow at Lynwood. Here’s what we are gonna sing:
To the King
Only a God Like You
Jesus is the Lord
Today is the Day
I can’t wait to worship with you!
I am super pumped about the next two Sundays at Lynwood. This week we wrap up the series “Yes: Obedience.” Jim and Cheryl are coming up from Alabama and singing in the service. What a weekend. Here’s the music set:
Let the Praises Ring
How Great is Our God
Revelation Song (Sonya and Jim singing lead)
Then Jim and Cheryl will sing “Remember Me” at the end. Can’t wait to visit and worship with good friends.
And next week, the Louderbacks return!
What in the world are we singing Sunday? Glad you asked.
Only a God Like You
Hosanna (Praise is Rising)
Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King
All I Can Do (choir)
We are still looking at what biblical obedience is. I have been so challenged.
Sing Sing Sing
My Savior, My God
Can’t wait to worship with you.
